Apparently I don’t follow blogging rules as I always forget to add something.

Two months ago, July was an awful month for me. Started out with a bang and ended with a bang…

Slammed into my first Deer, thankfully I was not hurt but the Cruiser limped into a gas station… barely. As I’m getting close to my destination all of a sudden out from the dark at 3am in the morning TWO Deer decide it’s the best time to cross the road. Unfortunately the second deer didn’t see anything except the world spinning around him. The first deer was able to get past my vehicle. But thankfully I hit the second deer square middle of my car damaging a lot but pushed that poor deer forward and to the left in a flat spin…….. you’d think this day in age we could actually use our cell phones to call for help, but not out in the middle of open range country where only deer and coyotes roam. But the Cruiser did limp into a gas station as mentioned.

After that fiasco I finally got back home and a couple weeks later I went back to retrieve the car during an uneventful trip home.

Then just when you think everything’s going great (aprox a week later)

BAMM! – July 31st I decided to take the bike for a little spin in the gravel. Ouchie! – that shit hurt!

It’s not the best way to become ambidextrous!

The scoot will be finished near the end of Sept at which time my body will be ready to ride her home.

The desire to ride is high, very high, can’t hardly stand it anymore, going nuts, need to go for a ride!!!!

The scoots must of known we were heading that way cause they were rather ansi at getting back to the stables.

As I’m heading home during the final stretch, past the congestion interstates that plaque our lands, I heard a quiet whisper over the purring of the pipes… at first I wasn’t sure what I was hearing, so I looked around to see if someone was yelling at me on the road or if I heard music or whatever, but then I heard it again a few miles down the road, this time a little louder….

I … S P I R I T…

My Scoot finally spoke to me and told me her name…
I’m so proud of my steel horse.

We met up for some breakfast in the beautiful town of Morrison where we shared our thoughts and good eats. Upon finishing our meals we saddled up for an adventure that was truly awesome, it was a ride through Estes Park, then all the way up to the top of Trail Ridge Summit. Though it’s the middle of August when the heat is the highest around here, it was awfully cold on top of Trail Ridge. Seeing that we were above the Tree Line and there was snow lower than us. After saddling back up we proceeded down through the ridge and on into Grand Lake where we ate a late lunch and drank some liquids. After about an hour of resting we again saddled up and head down to Winter Park where they were having a POW / MIA Bike Rally. We didn’t stay, and in-fact we didn’t even stop, maybe we should have, but again this trip was a “riding trip”. After leaving Winter Park we continued on down the path towards I-70 where most of the pack broke off and headed back to Denver while others continued onward towards Breckenridge to visit with another SMC member who opened up his home with food and drink and fellowship.

Those of us that headed East on I-70 met up with stop-n-go traffic as soon as we got onto I-70. Then just as you think we are almost down out of the mountian, Good-Old Floyd Hill had yet another supprise for us. Traffic dead stop for 20 minutes.

During all this I had the great pleasure of having my brother-n-law join in on our ride. Thanks to Sarge for allowing us to borrow his Heritage H-D for Andy to ride. He had a blast, was smiling from ear to ear all the way around. Such fun times. I wish more of my friends would take the riders course and get a bike. It’s a whole different life. A life I’m very proud to be apart of. – Can’t wait for the next trip that happens at the end of August 2009.
