Conquering Fear
Fear is an emotional response to threats and danger. It is a basic survival mechanism occurring in response to a specific stimulus, such as pain or the threat of pain. Fear should be distinguished from the related emotional state of anxiety, which typically occurs without any external threat. Additionally, fear is related to the specific behaviors of escape and avoidance, whereas anxiety is the result of threats which are perceived to be uncontrollable or unavoidable.

After many many years of riding the interstates all dressed up with airbags and side panels, it was time to be the airbags for the Dyna for the first time. I’ve always taken to the streets and highways but never the Interstate due to knowing how people drive out there. If it wasn’t for those little white dotted lines it’d be a demolishion derby. But last Sunday I took it upon myself to ride all the way through Denver on the multi-lanes of I-25 on the motorcycle and it was a smooth sailing ride to say the least. Those that don’t ride, don’t really understand, as I was one of them. But after getting on and finding your spot and fighting for it… to a degree… I honostly now believe what all riders say… the Interstate is better to ride on than other streets… Now I just need a stereo installed, some bags and I’ll be good-to-go for a nice long road trip.
That part I said here about needing a few things then I’ll be good-to-go on a nice long road trip was the beginning of something I knew nothing about, and it’s been a wild and wonderful experience all year on all the long road trips I’ve taken, including traveling to my dad’s across three states by myself on the barren roads. I still say I prefer doing it with a little protection at hand if need be. But if anything I had GOD there and the Angels watching over me, and probably mom too. As I had them all in my thoughts on that long lonely road.
